IIIIIIIIIIIIIII Robert Maggio commissioned by a consortium of choirs to compose a new work for Equality Forum in Philadelphia in the Spring of 2009The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, The Gay Men's Chorus, and the Anna Crusis Women's Choir have combined to commission three Philadelphia-area composers—Robert Maggio, Cythia Folio, and Peter Hilliard—to write 5-minute works on the theme of diversity and equality to be premiered in the Spring of 2009 during the Equality Forum celebration. IIIIIIIIIIIIIII The Arizona Friends of Chamber Music Commission Robert Maggio for Second String QuartetThe Borromeo String Quartet will give the premiere of Robert Maggio's 2nd String Quartet on January 14, 2009 in Tuscon, AZ, commissioned by the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music. The creation of the new quartet is sponsored by Herschell and Jill Rosenzweig, Helmut Abt, Harold G. Basser in memory of his wife Suzanne. This is the 2nd commission Maggio has received from the AZFCM; the first was for Songbook for Annamaria (String Quartet No.1) in 2001, for the Colorado Quartet.
